The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) market in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, is forecast to reach US$9.5 billion in 2016, up from US$5.9 billion in 2011.

In 2012, BPO in Asia Pacific is on pace to total US$6.45 billion.

The data, released by Gartner Inc on Wednesday, showed "a still relatively underdeveloped and underexploited" BPO market in the region, said T.J. Singh, research director at Gartner.

Australia and New Zealand are the two exceptions, he said.
