What is our life?

What is our life?
What is our life? Why this topic? I don't know maybe its because I turn 41 this year and starting to feel I should search for some basic answers to our journey in life. What do I seek? Have I seen the world?

There is a verse in the bible I remember, Vanities of Vanities!

how true it is that we live in a world of illusion, how true! To me other than being with our loved ones the whole reason why we need money is to fill our stomach and have a good sleep every night. I cannot think of a more justified answer to the state of our lives and bearings of those who pursue riches and digits. Occasionally I read about motivational and interviews of successful people such as CEOs or the likes but lately I begin to realise that these people are meant to be on world stage and not the majority of us. Ironically what make me objectively question the true purpose and meaning of life here which I am still searching and reading is parly influenced by these 2 books I read,

Auschwitz_ A Doctor's Eyewitness Account - Miklos Nyiszli Jerusalem
Jerusalem_ The Biography - Simon Sebag Montefiore

After reading them I realised how much blood mankind has shed over the years and generations all for ego and selfishness. Hence, there is no such word or meaning as love in people with power blinding them who then abused and caused sufferings of many. That is one reason why I understand better the meaning of love.

RE: What is our life?
Reflecting on my life back to days of school and I start to wonder if I am smart enough or simply didn't do more. How do I bring back my energy? Seems to be lost and misaligned over time as I get older. One definite thing I like to share is the society I live in. It is a regimental paced society with a constant drive to ensure our monetary well being. We are bound very biased to the programs and policies by the state especially issues anchoring our lives and livelihood. In macro terms a big magnet, in micro terms a desire on our part to strive to fit. In the end we find alot of ordinary folks falling off and only the best survives. We are turning into a society like Athens not Spartan like Ngiam Tong Dow rightly put it. Yes we have a thorough process of nurturing scholars and talents through prestigious global institutions but don't you agree serving with drive and passion is far more valuable and rare? We need a all rounder with equal traits not someone with head but nothing else then we do not need a politician, we just need an administrator. Do you agree?
