RE: Articles from diary of a singaporean mind
Yes LKY is right with the theory of numbers by replacing the population with migrants but he cannot control whether these migrants or their children will stay on long term and become full citizens. We must understand the state cannot govern people's lives and personal decisions. Another point is, he always assume everyone or the masses are healthy and able like him at his age, so he do not see the wider picture of the masses that people generally have health issues big or small past 50 years old. He is indeed a good statesman with determination and strong will and mind like hardened steel but man being man breaks down which is something he has to grapple with as he age and gradually has a different view from the general public.

Well, these new migrants might be attractive now like new and hardworking bees working to gather nectar for honey but they will also grow old one day and be silver hair, do they then stay and retire hence become a draw on the state's resources and continue to add on to our already increasing large projected ageing population? Does this solution of importing foreigners to add numbers to population work out?

I don't have an answer, I only say it will not be an easy ride. Many countries realised in the race to be international in a global environment there must be barriers to entry.

The problem is we have an efficient govt which is good at planning and tackling issues however they fail to see that planning and tackling issues without consideration with compassion for man in the street will eventually be their own nemesis.

So you can see PM LHL is saying now we need to be an 'inclusive' society....

what does it mean to me? I don't know how it benefits when everyone is paying sky high for COE, House, Education, Health Care etc.... will this make us inclusive? Yes of course it does when we only share with others after we have our fill.. what do you thin?
