Advent is coming despite the covid pandemic
so we ask how do we prepare ourselves for God mercy and healing in our lives in this fallen and broken world

How does the Word of God bring us wisdom and healing?
the ministry of the Word is not to be regarded as an adjunct or secondary ministry. Rather, the ministry of the Word is essential insofar as it prepares for the ministry of healing to take place. Once again, when we read the gospel, we are told that the crowd came first and foremost “to hear him and to be cured of their diseases.” This means that real and lasting healing can only take place if people hear the Word first. Without the proclamation of the Word, it will be difficult for any healing to be effected. This is because the proclamation of the Word is necessary to instill faith in the infirmed, so that they can be open to the power of God and the power of the Risen Christ working in their lives.

Luke 16:18 They had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases, and those troubled by unclean spirits were healed. 19 The entire crowd was trying to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all.

Luke 5:15 But the news about Jesus spread all the more, and great crowds came to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16Yet He frequently withdrew to the wilderness to pray.

Let us open and receive the word of God and may his Graces continue to transform us and convert more to his love and will. Amen!
